Back to the roots…

Photography is a profession in which you can always learn, always improve. I believe the moment you stop learning, you should stop. Learning can be done in many ways, be reading and studying others work, by studying the light, by experimenting. Normally the first step to become a pro, is to be assistant and then from there it starts and you develop further.

Last weekend I went back to the roots. I became again assistant J I had the honor to assist my friend Stefano at a wedding. It was a nice way to see how another photographer shoots a wedding: how is his interaction with the couple? how does he look for the light? the composition? It was also nice to carry a bag again J

Below an image of Stefano in action, showing Maja what he captured. Make sure you check out his site as well: Stefano Fiorentin.

Leanne & Mike [ vjencanja ]

We had a great wedding the other day in Brela. Leanne and Mike came from Canada to literally tie the knot here in Croatia. Although we photographed them only three hours I had big fun.

Obviously, in Brela they were not used to foreigners getting married and I was surprised to see so many colleague press photographers snapping away for their newspapers (Slobodna Dalmacija, Dalmatian News, Makarsko Primorje). Anyway, enjoy!

Trash The Dress: Zlatan Otok

After their wedding in Dubrovnik, Belinda & Anthony spend some time on the island Hvar. We met them a week later in order to Trash The Dress.

Our special thanks to Zlatan Otok, a great winery and for those who know the wine, will recognize some things in the pictures.

Enjoy.

Gordana & Marijan [ vjencanja ]

We had a nice wedding the other day. The bride and Groom were family of a couple we photographed in july this year so it was nice to see half of the family again. Made it very cosy.

The preparation part was held in Buzin (Zagreb) where the party started already long before the ceremony and continued until late in Klet Buncic in Dugo Selo.

Enough talk, enjoy.

New: Gallery Prints

We are very proud to introduce again something new. Those who saw us at ’Dani Vjencanja’ might have seen it already: big prints. And we’re not talking digital inkjet prints, but real museum quality prints: real photos printed on metallic paper.

The gallery prints will be available in two formats: 50×70cm and 70×100cm and prices will be 200 and 300 euro.

Woman in White

I am glad to see that many people are interested in our latest project, ‘Woman in White’. It is even nicer to know that we found a sponsor for our project who will supply us with white dresses when needed.

Due to the great interest, the project will start earlier, this month already or otherwise next month. Those who wanted to join, just contact me, I’d like the project to last as long as possible. Spread the word J.

Dani Vjencanja 2008

Tomorrow starts ‘Dani Vjencanja‘ here in Zagreb, it will last until Sunday and there will be plenty to see and buy. Although we normally are not present at any wedding faire, this weekend we will be around.

Zagreb’s most luxury hotel, The Regent Esplanade, asked us to showcase our images on their stand and we are very honoured with this.

So, if you’re around and you’re in the mood to chat to me, book us, or whatever, contact me. I’ll be around.

See you.
